Brotherhood at Temple Dor Dorim  

The Brotherhood of Temple Dor Dorim is an association of male Temple Members interested in having fun, sharing common interests and promoting the Temple. We have numerous events throughout the year, usually focusing on family, male bonding, sports and various activities involving the Temple. We are always looking for increased participation. The Brotherhood President for 2011-12 is Hal Mindel.

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful South Florida winter season and getting ready for my favorite holiday of the year… YES, Super Bowl Sunday!!!! The only day of the year where gorging on greasy, salty, cheesy and spicy food is expected, and where staying up late on a Sunday night drinking beer is an acceptable excuse for coming in late to work on Monday.

 

The end of the NFL season also marks another end to the Brotherhood Fantasy Football League season. Congratulations to former Brotherhood President Allen Knee, who defeated the defending Lipson Trophy holder, Eddie Aponte. Thanks once again to board member Harlan Press for taking the Commissioner role for another season. Brotherhood sports fans; stay tuned for our annual “March Madness” NCAA Tournament contest as well. That one is always a group favorite

 

The next Brotherhood event is being organized by board member Lenny Miller; who has planned an evening of food and fun for couples (or singles if you like) at the “Laffing Matterz” dinner Theatre at the Broward Center for Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday Night February 25, at 8:30pm

Currently we have reserved a limited number of tickets and may be able to get more if interest is high. Sue and I are even attending (yes, I am actually willing to leave Weston for an evening out, and it’s no secret that Griffin rd and I-75 is like an invisible, electric fence for me.
