Youth Groups

Youth Groups
Temple
Dor Dorim’s youth groups Kochavim (K-2nd) and Giborim (3rd-5th) give Jewish children a way to connect with one another in a social and informal educational setting. Students from grades Kindergarten through 5 are welcome (and encouraged!) to come to the monthly programs on Sunday mornings immediately following Religious School. Our monthly programs include social events, social action projects, and educational and religious events. All of our programs combine some learning with a whole lot of fun!

ATID (ATID means the Future) Temple Dor Dorim’s junior youth groups for Grades 6 through 8. ATID’ites will be invited to participate in youth group events throughout the year, depending upon the age appropriateness of the activity. Upcoming events will include a T-shirt design contest, a tie-dye extravaganza, social action events, scavenger hunts and more! This youth group meets two times per month on Tuesday nights. Everyone is encouraged to bring a Jewish friend.

TOUCHY (The Original United CHarter Youth)
TOUCHY is the senior youth group of Temple Dor Dorim and is affiliated with the Reform movement’s youth program, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth). Our programs offer a balance of social, educational and religious content, with events planned and facilitated completely by teens, for teens. TOUCHY meets on Wednesday nights and TOUCHY is more of an open forum for teens to join with no expectation of them other than to show up and have a great time. Events are local, regional and national. Through dinners, games, music, improv, art and creative Jewish learning, teens can be themselves, make new friends and learn in informal ways about Judaism and the world around them. This program provides positive role modeling for teens in a safe and comfortable environment. It is the place to be on Wednesday nights!

Our Mission
TOUCHY creates an environment to foster long-term commitment to the ideals and values of Reform Judaism. TOUCHYites feel a sense of belonging, friendship, safety, and purpose. Through local, regional, national events, TOUCHYites experience meaningful acts of love and kindness throughout our Jewish community where each person is considered to be b ’tzelem Elohim —in the image of God.

Lucky's Cafe
Enjoy Shabbat dinner served by our Senior Youth Group following Shabbat Services. All of the proceeds go towards youth group programming. This is a fun and exciting event that warrants participation for the entire congregation. This year Lucky's Cafe will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:30 PM immediately following Shabbat Services.

NFTY-STR Fall Kallah 2010 hosted by TOUCHY
