We need, appreciate and thank you for your help Tzedakah is an important concept in Judaism; it is a moral commitment of faith and a fundamental part of Jewish living. The Hebrew word Tzedakah means more than charity; it is a combination of righteousness, fairness and justice. Traditionally, ancient Rabbi's taught that the construction of the Temple was not completed until everyone had contributed to the effort. As a result, the Holy Temple, the place where our people and God met, was dependent upon the good will and donations of each and every one of our ancestors.

When a Jew, wherever s/he goes, carries every other Jew in his heart, then all of us are one. And we will come together as one. And when we are one, all the peoples of the world can live in peace as one. And then the world is healed.
In Judaism, charity is not merely an act of giving; it is a moral commitment of faith. In short, it is a fundamental part of Jewish living. Although many people believe that the Hebrew word tzedakah means charity, the word's roots convey much more - a combination of righteousness, fairness and justice. The Rabbis of old taught that the construction of the Temple was not completed until everyone had contributed to the effort. As a result, the Holy Temple, the place where our people and God met, was dependent upon the good will and donations of each and every one of our ancestors.
Today, each gift to Temple Dor Dorim reflects that tradition. Gifts provide inspiring worship services led by Rabbi Lipson; stimulating educational opportunities for tots, children, teens and adults; Jewish cultural programming; connection and caring for our congregational community; fulfillment of our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world).
