About Our Musical Program

About Our Cantorial Soloist
Cantorial Soloist Allison Teisch
has helped to create beautiful music and spiritual worship at Temple Dor Dorim since 1999. She has been involved in Jewish Music Education for over twenty-five years and draws upon her wealth of knowledge and experience to bring music to all generations.

On any given day Allison can be found leading upbeat Tot Shabbat Services, providing beautiful prayer and song for Shabbat Services, conducting our Intergenerational Choir (Generations), directing and performing with our Temple Band (Chutzpah) or tutoring B’nei Mitzvah students. She also leads special programming for women, such as Rosh Chodesh Circles and an annual Women’s Passover Seders.

Whether leading prayer, teaching or singing in community events, Allison enjoys creating musical moments of prayer and empowering others to do so as well.

Allison is happily married to Evan and is the proud mother of two daughters, Danielle and Laura.

An Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music graduate, Allison is skilled in voice, piano and guitar. She is a member of the Guild of Temple Musicians and of the Florida Organization of Cantors, Assistants and Soloists.

About Our Musical Programs
Generations Choir
Generations Choir is a volunteer choir that is open to all members from fourth grade through adult. The only requirement necessary is a desire to learn and a love of music!

Our choir is a unique and warm experience where children and adults sing in harmony and create beautiful music. Under the direction of Cantorial Soloist Allison Teisch, Generations Choir sings during worship services and the High Holy Days, as well as community wide events and at nursing homes.

Generations Choir truly spreads joy to all who hear them sing!

Chutzpah Band
Using a mix of traditional and contemporary melodies our volunteer band, “Chutzpah”, led by Cantorial Soloist Allison Teisch accompanies worship services and special events.

Whether playing for a Shabbat Service, Tu B’Shevat or Women’s Seder the Chutzpah Band lends the perfect musical accompaniment. It is a moving musical experience for members of the band and those who sing along in a community of musical worship!

Any temple member is welcome to audition. At present the band boasts an incredible group of musicians including keyboard, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, viola, percussion, drums and vocals.
